Who We Are
he Gazette Printing Company has been established since 1786, making it the second oldest, continuously operating printing company in the country. Originally part of what is now the Daily Hampshire Gazette, Gazette Printing was founded by William Butler and became a separate entity in 1874. At that time, the primary business was city directories instead of commercial printing. Nine such directories were published between 1860 and 1876. In 1935, the plant was moved from its original 14 Gothic Street location to 15 Armory Street in Northampton. A fire destroyed the Armory Street location in December of 1954. The printing company bought the old Plaza Theater building in January of 1955 and set up operation there. A second location at 58 O’Neil Street in Easthampton was added in 1967. The plant in Northampton handled city directories and the Easthampton plant did commercial printing. The directory business was gradually phased out and commercial printing became the main stay of the business. The entire operation was moved to 58 O’Neil Street in March of 1986. In 2006, Mark and Paula Goodwin purchased Gazette Printing Company, adding innovation and new state of the art equipment for a current staff of not just employees, but trained artisans and craftsmen with a combined printing experience as old as Gazette Printing itself.
We Are G7 Certified
Businesses spend countless hours creating and designing their print products. So, when it comes to the printing process, perfection is non-negotiable.
From a printing standpoint, this means that the color has to be perfect. From matching your specific brand colors to reproducing the hues of high-quality images and graphics, the color of your print publication must be superb and consistent.
gazette printing continually meets or exceeds these standards.
BUT WHAT EXACTLY DOES THAT MEAN?
Simply put, the G7 certification program guarantees that a press operation’s colors are consistent across all processes, substrates and inks, and that they all align with industry standards.
Maintaining this certification goes beyond just meeting color targets. From a production standpoint, it also means reduced design times and higher levels of consistency in reprints.
G7 certification is certainly something for printers to celebrate because the multi-level process is complex.
We sell printing. We deliver quality and service.
